Future Cyclone preps for Jr. year

Jordan Dykstra, Iowa State's first basketball commitment in the class of 2010, took an unofficial visit to Ames this weekend and was in attendance when the Cyclone football team lost to Big 12 North rival Nebraska 35-7. Football has been a big theme in Dykstra's life as of late. The 6-foot-9, 215 pound big man out of Rock Valley has been playing with the pigskin quite a bit himself.

Dykstra plays wide receiver for Rock Valley who is current 4-4 on the season heading into Friday night's match-up against Sioux Center. Rock Valley is still in the middle of a playoff chase and Dykstra currently has 19 receptions for 320 yards for just over 16 yards per catch.

While football has been on his mind lately, Dykstra is still looking forward to his career on the hard wood for Greg McDermott and the Iowa State Cyclones.

"I'm still really excited to go play at Iowa State," Dykstra said. "They've been getting some good recruits and I can't wait."

CycloneReport.com will keep you updated on how Dykstra's junior season is going at Rock Valley all winter long.
